Watched the latest episode of Hawaii-Five-0 tonight. Must share the show stealing handsomeness that is Ian Anthony Dale. It takes a lot to out shine Alex O'Loughlin so...just sayin'!!!
There is so much to like about this image...the beard, the beard, the beard...and that he's doing the dishes!
Here's another, closer shot of the beard. So nice! I am glad they didn't just kill him off. I was a bit disappointed that he had shaved by the end of the episode, though. Sigh! All good things must end.

Hey all,
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and all that. I just wanted to share some great books I have been enjoying.

Wendy Delsol’s STORK, inspired by Norse mythology, the story of an LA teen transplanted to Minnesota discovering her secret ties to the town and to a mysterious group of women who have the ability to place souls on earth. Published by Candlewick Press. Release date: October 12, 2010.

Wendy Delsol’s FROST, is the sequel to her YA debut STORK. After the drama of discovering that she’s a member of the Storks, a mystical order of women endowed with powerful abilities, Katla Leblanc is finally settling into her life in chilly Minnesota. In fact, the ex-California girl even hopes for a white Christmas. But Katla’s wintry wish unexpectedly turns into the snowstorm of the century, drawing the attention of Brigid, a gorgeous environmental researcher with an amazing array of fur coats and an unusual interest in Katla’s boyfriend, Jack. Inspired by Norse mythology and Hans Christian Andersen’s THE SNOW QUEEN. Release: October 11, 2011.
I will be looking forward to TIDE, book three in the STORK trilogy, to release in October 2012. In the meantime, Ms. Delsol is working on a modern-day retelling of Jane Austen’s PRIDE AND PREJUDICE and the working title is PRIDE AND PLEDGES.

The Genius that is J.K. Rowling
Ok girls Nov 19th is fast approching and with it brings Harry Potter! I am super excited and really wish I had the money to see the midnight showing however money is really tight right now and what I REALLY wanna do is have a Harry Potter Movie Marathon! At first I was gonna borrow the movies from the library BUT while watching TV today I saw a commerical saying that they were gonna show HP movies Thurs - Sun. I know they cut out a lot for TV but it'll work. I've already set them to record, the only bummer is is that they aren't airing the 6th movie :\ I can hopefully rent/borrow that. Any who a few days ago I was online looking for a recipe for pumpkin milkshakes and found one that was "ala Harry Potter" I haven't tried it yet BUT I did find a web site that has recipes for a lot of treats and goodies meantioned in the books aka Butterbeer, Pumpkin Juice, pumpkin pasties, cauldron cakes, chocolate frogs, Cockroach Clusters, and Jelly Slugs just to name a few! I am UBER excited to try these out! lol Any ways I just wanna leave you with a few trailers of the up and coming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallow part 1

Yeah, I Know!!!
Sure. It has been forever since I was on here. It's not that I forgot ya'll. I just got busy and well...kinda obsessed with chickens. There. I said it. You'll understand when you see what I'm up against. I mean, who could say no to these little faces? I mean, can you really blame me?

It started with just two hens. Oddly enough they seemed to reproduce like rabbits (thanks to homemade incubators and feed stores). I found an awesome website called BackYardChickens.com and with all the helpful info, support and enabling I found there...well, let's just say that chickens are addicting. I tell myself that I'm being more sustainable, growing our own meat and eggs, and don't forget the bugs, mice and leftovers they eat. Plus, there's the poo. It makes excellent compost and you all know how terrible the soil is here in Vegas. The best part is that my pets make me breakfast! Oh yeah, it's all about the eggs! Can I tell you how awesome it is to hunt for Easter Eggs EVERYDAY? Yeah, brown, cream, rose/pinkish-brown, green, blue-green and white...so cool to get a different combo everyday. Oh, and I don't have to worry about that nasty salmonela flavor, either! :)

So, there you have it. I'm in love. No, not puppy love (no offense Maggie) it's chicken love...and, I think, I'm not the only one that's feelin' it!

All Compass Points Sunset Event!
So last night, the power went out about 6:30; right before my fave TV shows are supposed to come on. At first, I was upset as the minutes turned into hours, but then about 8:30-8:45, the most AMAZING sunset event occurred. It involved all points of the compass! I took many, many photos, but here are the best from each direction:

View to the East...Wow!

View to the West...is someone receiving revelation or a visitation in the church? Hmmm.

All in all, this was a fantastic experience. I don't think I've ever experienced something to this magnitude before.
Thank You, Lord, for the better than TV Nature show!
